Pursue Your Dreams

Invest In Yourself - Get Out Of The Rat Race!

Words From The Heart

WORDS FROM THE HEART

When I created this site, I had a lot going on my mind, but I knew that I wanted to cater to my audience, and give them some tools to build their businesses...but there are other things pondering in my mind, that I can't leave alone.  What I'm about to say is what I truly feel, and take it or leave it.  But I hope that what I say gets through to someone.

FOR THE FOLKS SITTING ON THE FENCE....WAITING.

I'm sure you know this, but just in case you don't, did you know that nothing is going to come to you by waiting?

  • Waiting for the next raise so you can do this or that is doing yourself a disservice.
  • Waiting until your children get out of the house to pursue what you want, does you a disservice.
  • Waiting for your spouse to 'get it', does you a disservice.

We are not getting any younger folks.

I know these are pretty bold statements to some, but I'm doing it. The Donald Trumps, the Oprah Winfreys, the Dani Johnsons....PEOPLE ARE MAKING THEIR DREAMS COME TRUE. And they are NOT doing it by sitting on the fence, waiting for an opportunity. They are taking a chance, taking that first step to do what they want to reach their goals. No one stops you but YOU.

People are trading time for money.

You've heard of the rat race. Let me break it down. You get up, dreading (or not) going to work. You are in a rush. Why? Because if you don't get to work on time, there's a chance you could get fired. If you get fired that means no income, which means you may have to sell the house, the car, move to a smaller place, collect unemployment and whatever else. So you go to work diligently on time everyday. Work 40, 50 even up to 80 hours a week. For what? So you get your guaranteed paycheck. When you get that check, you go pay bills, bills, bills, other expenses, and then you are penny pinching until next payday. So you continue to go to work, to pay bills and other things, only to keep going back to work to do the same thing.

Fact: Everyone goes to work to bring home money. So they can live. Some have it worse and work crazy hours and don't have time for anything else.

My father told me a story about a coworker at his last job that worked over 20 years of his life at the post office. The hours were long, and he worked 6 days a week. He told my dad and everybody else that when he retired, he was going to vacation.  Well when he retired, he died of a heart attack 6 months later. He was in great health, but suffered a lot of stress from work.  I don't want that to happen to me, or anyone.

Then, there are the ones who don't see the value in investing in themselves.

Here's a good example. John Doe is making enough money to last him until next payday. He won't put any money into savings, won't invest in mutual funds/stocks, won't pursue his dreams, but will spend $2000 (less or more) on rims on his vehicles, that he 'can afford'. Now a great comedian said this (Katt Williams). Here's a secret, YOU CAN'T SEE THEM WHEN YOU ARE DRIVING. YOU HAVE TO LOOK AT PEOPLE OUTSIDE AND WATCH THEIR REACTIONS, to CONFIRM THE RIMS ARE ON YOUR VEHICLE. And for damn sure, the rims aren't appreciating or bringing money into his pocket.

People want a nice car, and a nice house. They work a 9-5 they are unhappy with, and nowadays, can't be secure with the 9-5...but when you ask them to invest in themselves, or start a Roth IRA, put away 10% for themselves no matter what,  a low startup for a business that will allow them to live their dreams, they say 'it's too much of a risk.'  But what's gonna happen when you can't pay the mortgage b/c you got laid off? Or when you walk outside and your car is repossessed? Do you have a plan B? And let's hope it's not another job you aren't happy with, one that barely pays.

I'm not saying that will happen to everyone. But people need to get with the times. Social Security may not be around for us.  Layoffs, downsizing, are becoming a norm.  Benefits are hard to come by. And now you can't get a decent paying job without a Masters! (Remember with having an Associates was grand? A bachelor was icing on the cake?)

We all want nice things. But some of us aren't willing to step out of the box and take a chance to create wealth. By wealth I mean, health, residual income, spiritual wealth, a happy home...

The only way I truly believe, that you can achieve financial freedom, is by having your own business. BE YOUR OWN BOSS. Be trained or mentored by someone, commit, go at it wholeheartedly, and follow your dreams. INVEST IN YOU.

I want to close with one quick fact. Did you know, as an employee, you will pay MORE in taxes than a business owner does? Think about it.

I hope this finds you in good health. I hope you took something positive from what I shared, and I hope you DO SOMETHING about it.

Blessings to you always,
